I have wanted to create a Classroom Website for some time now, but I didn't think I had the knowledge of the tools to create one. I was wrong. Google offers a website creation site that is easy to use. I created a website for the SPOKES programs where I teacher, where I will be able to provide my students with information that is essential to their career and educational journeys. This will make it easier on me and them. Tools, websites, documents, and classroom materials can be put onto the website for them to access when I am at one of the other programs. I used Google Docs to upload essential documents and materials my students may need and incorporated them into the website. This website is a work in progress, but I was able to get a good start during this class.

Google Forms/Assessments
I created an Adult Education Survey that I can use with my students to help gain understanding about why they quit high school. I am thinking about doing my demonstration project about why my students school, what barriers they faced, and what barriers that may face while trying to obtain their GED. I could use this as an iniatial survey to learn a little bit about their education background. I would like to create a more in-depth survey to use at a later time.

Intel (Ordering)
I created a visual ranking project that I would be able to use with elementary students when they are practicing putting words in alphabetical order. This is a skill that students are required to master. I would be able to create list that focus on different phases of learning to put words in alphabetical order. I would be able to add this to independent or group work time instead of providing worksheets for practice.

Podcast
I created a Podcast using Audacity that I can use in my job readiness classroom. For many of my students, job retention skills are not common sense. They have to learn what to do on the job, so that they do not get fired. The object of the Podcast is to help my students understand job retention skills and gain an understanding of how to prepare for their first jobs.
I created the Job Retention Podcast/(Downloadable Version) using Audacity and LAME to convert the file from an aup file to a wav file. I then used WavPad Sound Editor to convert the wav file to an mp3. I began by adding music at the beginning. I felt that 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton was a fitting song for this Podcast. I added segments of the song at the beginning and end. I wrote a script to read, but did not read it exactly as it was written. My voice didn't turn out as well as I would have liked due to my cold.
I would use this in my class when my adult students are preparing to join the workforce. This would add something different to the lessons we use in the classroom and provide support to what they are learning. It isn't necessary for all of our students to learn job retention skills, but most of them are unsure of what to do when they begin a new position. I will be able to send this to our students or post it to our classroom blog. This will enable to them listen to it on their own and then reflect on it during a group discussion. I also plan to save my Podcast to my mp3 player, so that I have it with me at all times.

Prezi Zooming Presentation
I used a PowerPoint presentation I created that introduce Learning Express Library and what the site has to offer learners. I didn't use the whole presentation, but added essential slides to my Prezi Presentation. I think Prezi Presentation adds effects to a presentation that makes it more interesting and eye catching to the audience. I also like that I could add in my PowerPoint presentation slides, but also add sections of text. This adds diversity to the presentation. PowerPoint presentations are a great way to teach, but it can become boring. I think I was a little afraid of Prezi. I was unsure of my presentation. I think it will be a great tool once I get accustomed to using it. I didn't like how my presentation looked embedded. It is much pretty on the Prezi Site.

Get Video
I used Any Video Converter to save a YouTube video to my computer. I found a video on YouTube that suggested using Any Video Converter to convert and save videos to your computer. It also showed how to save and convert the video. I thought this video was appropriate for the assignment since the assignment was to save a video from YouTube. I downloaded the converter to my computer. I was able to save the video to my computer and then post it to TeacherTube. I saved the video as a wmv file.
Having the ability to save YouTube videos and videos from other websites is a very useful tool. I can download videos onto my computer and access them when I do not have internet. I can download learning videos to use with my students, but also teach the students to use the converter to save videos to their own computers.
This is the video I was able to save using Any Video Converter. I also uploaded it to TeacherTube. Click HERE to see the video on YouTube.
